Marrakech and Zagora desert

The vibrant city of Marrakech! To be honest, I was expecting more like an Indian chaos - people everywhere, shop owners taking your hand and bringing into their shops and a horrible traffic - but Marrakech is quite a peaceful city compared to Asia or Egypt for instance.

And it's famous bazaar feels like a calm chaos. It's a must to go around the traditional marketplace to feel the truly Arabic vibe, get scared by the snake charmers (those snakes cannot bite you because they saw their mouths so snakes die within a couple of days, eww). But if you want to buy cheaper goodies, I highly recommend finding the shops in the smaller streets, which are only 10 min away from the main market, Jemaa el-Fnaa.

Marrakech has a great history, breathtaking mosque squares and its vibrant culture. It's also quite easy to navigate, but you will definitely get lost, no matter where you go.

One of the main reasons why I chose to travel to Morocco was visiting a desert. Driving all day long through the mountains, enjoying Arabic music, riding a camel during the sunsets towards the desert camp and sleeping in the tents under the millions of stars - this is what I truly live for. Highly recommend taking even 3 day tour - but in order to save a bit, try to book it through your Riad, that will save you a fortune.

'Evening being spent by the bonfire under five billion stars. Berbers are drumming their banjas and calmly singing in their language. Five billion stars, no one is around and our camels are resting behind the fence that surrounds our camp from the endless desert. It's red through; dunes are only starting where we are and mountains surround us from everyone. There's only the desert ahead.'
