2 days in tallinn

I don’t have many words to describe this feeling of travelling. Being on the road, heading towards an unexplored destination and having the only one plan in the head - to follow the unknown is my type of happiness. This is my first trip this year and I was dying to go somewhere! So my dear friend and I got discounted tickets, packed some essentials and ticked another country off the list!

First of all, this is amazing weekend away trip. We left Vilnius on Friday evening and reached Estonia on early morning. Now it’s Monday, and we sort of rested will be heading to work! Secondly, when you’re in the mood to explore as much as possible plus party even more – Tallinn is a great place for this. It's a small city, so you don't get too tired walking around the small oldtown streets and drinking beers afterwards. And thirdly, I would like to say a hug THANK YOU to our awesome host Tanel who took us to the bars to try local beers, showed how Estonians party in the clubs thus next day drove around the cool untouristic areas of Tallinn. Fun fact, both of us share a friend Jon-Paul who is from the US that we travelled both with (seperately) :D

Quick guide to what we have done in two days in Estonia’s capital:

1. Oldtown. Obviously. There thousands of incredible places to visit, but my advise is just to get lost in those tiny steeets in the early morning, before crowds wake up.

2. Go to Troompea Hill. It's definitely one of those touristic typical places which has an opened view to the whole oldtown, a kickass sentence 'the times we had' sprayed on the wall and some seagulls that fly around and try to steal stuff.

3. Harbour. Thanks to Tanel, he drove us to the harbour where the old ships and abandoned cool buildings (such a massive prison) are located. Maybe seaside it's not the best idea when it's extremely windy, and snowing, but worth visiting for sure!

4. Telliskivi creative city, a former industrial area that is occupied by the hipsters now. There are unique cafés and bars, galleries and bunch of street art, flea market and cultural events happening.

I have been missing this wanderlust feeling for so long, and am extremely happy finally getting those vibes of new places, different countries and new friends! Thank you, Tallinn, for being so awesome, we left the city with tears in our eyes <3 (could be because we were extremely tired as well)
